Understanding Your Commercial Photography Costs

Commercial photography is calculated on the photographer's day rate as a base price. Our standard day rate covers time and expertise for the photographer on set. This rate does not include several customary production costs which are typically billed separately.

The day rate does not cover:

• Travel: All travel expenses including transportation (flights, mileage), accommodation, and associated costs.
• Per Diem: Daily allowance for meals and incidentals incurred during travel.
• Assistant Fees: Costs for photography assistants, including their time and expertise.
• Styling & Culinary Support: Fees for food stylists, prop stylists, cooks, or other creative support personnel.
• Equipment Rental: Costs associated with renting specialized lighting, camera gear, or other equipment beyond Jose’s standard kit.
• Location Fees/Permits: Costs for renting studio space or obtaining permits for on-location shoots.
• Image Usage Rights: Licensing fees for the usage of the final photographs (pricing varies based on media, duration, and geographic scope).
• Digital Retouching/Post-Production: Costs for advanced editing, color correction, and retouching beyond basic adjustments.
• Insurance: Production insurance to cover equipment and liability.
